CIMA & Jushin Liger vs. Koji Kanemoto & Tiger Mask [5/3/09 - NJPW]
Liger and Mask start. They trade holds until Mask hits a monkey flip. He hits a suicide dive. CIMA and Kanemoto tag into the match. Kanemoto opens up with kicks. CIMA stomps on his face. Kanemoto retakes control with kicks. Mask tags in and they take turns kicking CIMA. Mask hits a dropkick. Liger tags in and hits a backbreaker. Mask returns the favor. Kanemoto tags in and Liger goes after his leg. CIMA hits a double stomp to the leg. He hits a senton for 1. He blocks a kick and goes to work on the leg. Liger tags in and they make a wish. Liger puts on a leglock. CIMA tags in, blocks another kick and puts on a leglock. Kanemoto counters so CIMA goes to the ropes. Kanemoto unleashes a few kicks. Mask tags in and hits a missile dropkick. He hits a butterfly superplex for 2. CIMA hits a double stomp. He hits the Venus and Iconoclasm. He hits a superkick but Mask comes back with a Tombstone Piledriver. Kanemoto and Liger tag into the match. Kanemoto hits an overhead suplex. He washes Liger’s face… er mask. Liger tries to return the favor but Kanemoto catches him with a kick. He kicks out Liger’s knee and puts on the anklelock. CIMA distracts Kanemoto to make the save. Kanemoto dispatches of CIMA quickly and reapplies the hold. Liger rolls out of it. He hits a palm strike and the LIgerbomb for 2. CIMA hits the Tokarev. Liger hits a brainbuster for 2. Kanemoto gets a sunset flip for 2. Liger hits the palm strike and a facebuster for the win at 13:03. That finish was crap, the crowd was silent throughout the match and everyone moved at what looked like half-speed. This was a total throw away match, which is disappointing given the talent involved.
