Akira Tozawa vs. Chris Sabin
Sabin puts Tozawa on the mat to start. They trade holds until Sabin gets a crucifix pin for 2. They trade armdrags. Excalibur (a Michigan native himself) earns my respect by supporting Sabin’s Detroit loyalty. Sabin hits a shoulder tackle. Tozawa hits the butt butt. He hits a bicycle kick for 2. He screams into Sabin’s ear. The crowd gets behind Sabin. Sabin hits a knee to the gut. He shoots Tozawa to the floor and hits a plancha. That gets 2 back inside. Sabin puts on a half crab. Tozawa gets to the ropes. He hits jabs and a chop in the corner. He hits a facelock suplex for 2. Tozawa hits a dropkick. Tozawa hits the Casanova. He hits a baseball slide and a suicide dive. He misses the Apron Kara Tozawa but hits a senton for 2. Sabin blocks the German suplex and hits an enziguiri for 2. He hits a Tree of Woe dropkick. Tozawa avoids a second attempt so Sabin hits a chest kick. He hits another Tree of Woe dropkick for 2. Tozawa hits a high kick. Sabin blocks the German suplex and gets a roll up for 2. He hits a Stun Gun and a superkick. Tozawa blocks a swinging DDT and hits the German suplex for 2. He hits the Croyt’s Wrath for the win at 11:57. They strung together a nice little story here, with Sabin finding ways to stay away from the suplex that killed Scott Lost, only to find that he could kick out of it but not Tozawa’s enhanced version of the move. I dig it!
